Maternity Sessions

Expecting a baby is such an exciting time! Maternity sessions are the perfect way to hold onto this exciting and beautiful time, allowing you to look back on the memories, and someday share it with your little one! We take great care to make sure you are comfortable during your session and also reflect your own style!  Whether you prefer to a simple session in your own home, or something outdoors, we work with you to customize your session!

When is the best time to schedule my maternity session?

Each woman is different, but generally the best time to do pregnancy sessions is when your belly is nice and round and when you feel good!  This is usually around 28-34 weeks.  Some women who are carrying smaller may choose to come in later in their pregnancy... and others, who may be growing a bit more quickly, may choose to come earlier ... around 28-32 weeks.  It is best to schedule these sessions at least 2-4 weeks in advance. Feel free to contact us as soon as you know you are pregnant to secure your session date!

Where will the session take place?

The best photos are always taken outside!  However, if it is a time of year when the weather is a bit too chilly, we can always do the shoot at your home or at another location of your choice.   If you choose to do them outside, we can help you choose a location, if you don't have one in mind.

What should I wear? What should I bring?

Plan to wear basic, comfortable clothes, such as jeans and a tank top.  A black shirt, black pants and a top that opens up easily are also helpful. We will provide wraps and other props for your shoot. You may want to bring along a ultrasound photo and other special items if you wish (booties, blocks with your child's name, etc.).

Who will be included in the session?

Your husband or significant other and other children are welcome to be included in the session at no additional cost.

What is the cost?

Maternity sessions start at just $250. Session fees includes digital download of all the images with a copyright release to the photos.  Session prices reflect the photographer’s time and talent in planning, shooting and processing images, as well as digital files and a print release. A gallery of your images will be emailed to you within 3 weeks for your viewing and then DVD will be mailed to you shortly after that.  If you wish to purchase prints, you may do that as well.

How long will the session last?

Maternity sessions will last approximately one hour.  This includes photographing the expectant mom (and possibly with her partner, and/or other children).
